Labelmakers Perth Hills Wine Show 2019

Labelmakers Group has secured the Naming Rights to the Perth Hills Wine Show for 2019 with an ongoing commitment until 2021.

Labelmakers Group is an Australian Owned and Operated Company and is the largest company of its type in Australia with over 400 employees. Their labels are manufactured “ON SITE” at their Perth Factory located in Wangara where they also have their own on site Studio and Pre Press Facilities. With a focus on the servicing and supporting Western Australian Wine Producers with High Quality Wine Labels, Labelmakers is proud to once again be involved with the Perth Hills Wine Show.

Their manufacturing sites are located in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand giving them a national footprint and Australia wide support.

Perth Hills Wine Show – venue confirmed

The 2019 Perth Hills Wine Show plans are coming along nicely.  The Hartfield Country Club in Forrestfield is now confirmed as the venue for the Judging and Awards Presentation Dinner on Wednesday 11 September and dinner tickets will go on sale on 1 August, 2019.  More details to follow soon.

2019 Executive Committee

The PHVA AGM was held at The Vault on Tuesday 7th May 2019.  All Executive Positions were declared open and we congratulate the following people on the successful elections to their positions:

Perth Hills Wine Show set for 2019

The 2019 Perth Hills Wine Show will take place on Wednesday, September 11th with the venue still to be determined.  The Awards Presentation evening will be open to the public and exhibitors as well as a number of honourable guests.  Wines that are entered into the awards, are available for public tasting prior to a gala dinner during which, awards will be presented.

The 2018 awards night was a sell out event with top honours being taken by Myattsfield Vineyard in Carmel.

Tickets will go on sale August 1st 2019.  Details will be released closer to the time.

Bickley Harvest Festival 2019

Situated approximately 35 minutes drive east of Perth and nestled in the Darling Ranges the beautiful Bickley Valley forms part of the Perth Hills, Western Australia’s best-kept secret.

Celebrating the end of Harvest, the 22nd Bickley-Carmel Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May, 2019. Showcasing the unique tastes, sights, and sounds of the Perth Hills, come and explore award-winning wines and cider, delicious food, and scenery that takes your breath away.

Information to help you plan your weekend journey can be found at the Bickley Harvest Festival app which is available on Android and Apple or pop into one of the many participating venues or the Visitor’s Centre in Kalamunda to collect your Harvest Festival map.  Follow the Bickley Harvest Festival facebook page for daily updates in the lead up to the event.

PHVA member appointed to Wines of WA Board

The Perth Hills Vignerons Association is pleased to announce that Daniela Tonon has been appointed as the Perth Hills’ representative on the Board of Wines of Western Australia (WoWA), a position she will hold for a two year term. Daniela has 20 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer and, as a director of Tonon Vineyard & Winery, she has gained an insight into the key issues facing the wine industry. Daniela also sits on the WA Branch Committee of the Australian Water Association (AWA) and represents AWA on the Minister for Water’s Water Resources Reform Reference Group. Daniela looks forward to working with the WoWA Board to be a strong advocate for the Perth Hills wine region.

2018 Perth Hills Wine Show

The Perth Hills Wine Region stretches from Chittering Valley in the North, down to Serpentine in the South and includes the Bickley – Carmel region, one of the closest wine regions to the CBD.

On September 12, 2018, wineries from the region participated in the Perth Hills Wine Show and 60 entries were received.  Judging of wines took place throughout the day culminating in an Awards Presentation and Gala Dinner in the evening which was held at The Vault Restaurant in Kalamunda.  Guests included Matthew Hughes MLA, Alyssa Hayden MLA, Donna Faragher MLC, Jessica Shaw MLA, as well as representatives for Ken Wyatt MP, who are all proud supporters of the event.

This year’s judges were:  Chief Judge, Severine Logan (Watershed Wines), Andries Mostert (Plantagenet Wines) and Lance Parkin (Houghton’s Wines) with Associate Judge Garret Strange (Villa Maria Wines).

Millbrook Winery took out the Chairman’s Trophy and Myattsfield Winery took out Wine of the Show
